Nordic Pole Walking with Ski Fit

Come join us on Saturday mornings from September to November and give Nordic pole walking a try. This is one part of our  Ski Fit & Brunch program, helping members get ready for ski season. For more details on our whole autumn fitness program, see the Ski Fit page, or the events below.


About Nordic Pole Walking

HPSC  has been teaching pole walking for 7 years . Whether you want a relaxing walk or a more vigorous pace, we have certified instructors and group leaders to show you how it is done.

Research into pole walking’s benefits have shown that it burns more calories than regular walking, cuts down on hip and knee joint stress and uses about 90% of the muscles in your body. What’s not to like about that!

Nordic pole walking got its start in Finland as a summer activity for their national cross-country ski team and soon became popular in Germany.

The club has some poles for members to borrow for the session on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you have your own poles, please bring them with you.
