uPDATE - March 15

HPSC Ikon group sales program partnership with Skican

We are once again participating in the Ikon group sales program for the 2023/24 season.  This year we are partnering with Skican on the group sales program.

So why purchase your Ikon pass through our group sales program?

As with last year, those purchasing new passes receive a $50 discount off the current direct Ikon price.  Prices for new passes and renewals increase in stages the closer we get to the season.  The current price through our group program for a new Base pass is $1,049 vs. $1,099 when purchased directly from Ikon. (Renewal rate is $1,039).

Purchasing through the HPSC group program will enter you into a draw for the possibility of earning back the value of your pass (the number of winners depends on the level of sales through our group program).

As an added bonus, all members who purchase a new pass or renew through the group program with Skican will receive a $50 Skican voucher they can use for any Skican trip during the 2023/24 season.

To purchase or renew your Ikon pass you will need to use our private link to the Skican portal.  Please send a message to ikon@hpsc.ca and we will send you the link and instructions.

Sales open at 10am EDT (8am MDT) on Thursday March 16 but you can send a message to ikon@hpsc.ca before then.

As a reminder, for those considering joining us, if you join after March 1st your membership is also good for all of next season. New member rate is $150 (+HST), while returning member rate is $170 (+HST).

As a reminder, if you need to cancel a day trip you have registered for, please send a message to cancellations@hpsc.ca

I truly hope that all of you are enjoying this season!

Masking on the Bus

Unfortunately, COVID and other respiratory illness are clearly still with us.  While this will not deter our plans for a more normal ski season it still must be acknowledged.

The bus is the one indoor area that the club has full control over.  As such we made the decision and communicated numerous times during the fall, that we are leaving the mask mandate on the bus in place for this season.  This requirement is also stated on all trip descriptions. Given the unpredictability of case counts, we did not want to have to reimpose masks if public health rules reverted back.

Many of you have received every COVID shot available to you; however, there are others who have not.  While it was extremely important last season, requiring proof of vaccination was a huge undertaking for a volunteer club.  Given that there is currently no recognized number of what is considered as the effective vaccination level and the proportion with booster shots is not as high as the initial shots, retaining masks on the bus is the most basic level of protection we could insist on.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is the club policy for the current season.  Those who contravene the policy may face club disciplinary action.
